A FAMILY STORY

Anne-Marie, Daniel and their two daughters, Camille and Mathilde, originally from Marseille, fell in love with Château Constantin, a unique and historic place, in the spring of 2016.

Coming from a family of fruit growers, they chose a new life project and decided to return to nature in Provence, among the vineyards.

Passionate about wine and terroir, the family embarked on a new adventure with an extensive vineyard rehabilitation program to enhance the estate and produce quality wines year after year.

Convinced of the benefits of sustainable farming, they took on the challenge of converting the estate to organic production in order to reveal the terroir’s purest expression. In 2020, the first certified organic harvest took place.

A VITICULTURE MINDFUL OF THE FUTURE

Château Constantin is a family estate nestled between vineyards, forest and olive groves. A small corner of paradise at the entrance of the famous village of Lourmarin, in the charming Luberon region.

This 20-hectare organic property stretches across varied terroirs - red clay, clay-limestone, and rolled pebbles -which give their wines both complexity and freshness!

A VINEYARD WITH A MILLENNIA-OLD TRADITION

The cellar, housed within the 17th-century building, has been fully modernized.

The ageing room includes a 50 hL oak vat, 600, 400 and 225 L barrels, and 5 hL terracotta amphorae for our single-parcel cuvées.

The estate still bears traces of an ancient vineyard established 500 years before our era, as well as a system built by the Romans to capture water from the hills and redistribute it throughout the area. Legend has it that the name Constantin is linked to the Roman emperor of the same name, who died in 357 A.D.
